Horror Film Preparation

When we came up with our idea we wrote it up on a story board for our opening sequence.
1. distibuter 2. production company, red neck. 3. Goes black, starts with screaming. 4. starts with flash pictures of facial expressions. 5. Small sequence of showing his tools. 7. showing all pictures stuck on wall. 8. show someone getting stabbed and trying to escape. We drew pictures to go with the correct scene.
We were aiming our target audience at teens, young adults, and adults. We hoped that it would attract all these groups because as well as being gory which teens are attracted too there would be a phsycological element which attracts adults because they sometimes enjoy films that make you think. The victims would also mostly be attractive young girls to attract teen boys.
We decided to have our filming location at Ewhurst place because it is an old building and we have easy access to it.

Horror Film ideas

For our first initial idea for our horror film we decided to go with Hannah’s idea, which was the idea of having four teenagers being locked in a house due to being told they were involved in a psychological experiment; which soon turns into a catasrophe. We discussed the idea with our Media teachers and were told that the basis of our idea of psychological experiments was a good idea but we should change the main idea of it.
We then went to do research of 'psychological experiments' and we came across a man who was obsessed with peoples facial expressions.
We developed this idea and came to idea of a man who kidnaps people and does experiments on them to compare peoples facial expressions. He would draw lines on their faces to measure facial muscles moving. He would torture them to test his experiment.
